    Mema has a new riddle for us! Reply with your answer and your name, and she'll put the best entries in her local paper.

    I can sizzle like bacon,
    I am made with an egg,
    I have plenty of backbone, but lack a good leg,
    I peel layers like onions, but still remain whole,
    I can be long, like a flagpole, yet fit in a hole,
    What am I?

    I came up with what i believe to be a pretty genius answer...though i'm not certain it's fit for a family publication. Come up with your answer, then read the comments to see my take.

  • A penis!

    I sizzle when nude-sunbathing.
    I am made with an egg -- namely, my mother's, when I was born.
    I have plenty of backbone (ahem), but lack a good leg. (Legs are the guys on either side of me.)
    I peel layers like onions yet still remain whole.....when I get circumcised.
    I can be long like a flagpole (best case scenario), yet fit in a hole (do I have to draw you a picture?!)

  • or a snake. So I guess, penis is sometimes called a trouser snake.

  • Snake.  Most definitely.  And as to penis...well...circumcision is one way to peel layers, but smegma also works.
